Ever since moving into our home there have been marijuana plants growing in our backyard. We slacked on yard work for the first couple years but started taking it more seriously last summer. I went outside and pulled all of these plants at the root and also sprayed areas with a general weed control spray hoping this would solve our problem however it has come back with a vengeance this summer and is now even spreading into our neighbors yard 😅
Any advice on how to get rid of this? I have no idea what to do

Standard weed killer will kill it. Do not try burning it as others might suggest

You’ve got to stop using the Scott’s spreader.

Are you sure ? Do you need some one to come verify ?

I stopped throwing my seeds out back and put them in the jar for safe keeping. That may help.

Where do you live? When I lived in England, I found hemp/cannabis growing in my garden. Turns out that they put seeds in the bird feeder mix over there. It spilled out, germinated and took root!

I once went camping in Wisconsin. The were marijuana plants growing everywhere. In the woods, in the fields, in the ditches along roadways. They call it “ditch weed”.

Do like me, convince yourself that you want to grow it, try to do that and it’ll probably die

Have you considered leaving things alone and buying an outdoor pizza oven?

Pour some diluted molasses on it, that’ll help

Might have to go over it with a broom.

Unless you know what you are doing, growing it so that you get actual buds is unlikely.

Yeah something dropped those in your yard or you’ve spread it yourself I’m fertilizer/compost. Eventually you’ll kill them all after a few years of battling they won’t all germinate the first year, but unless you’ve got an active source for seeds, you should be fine. If it’s in your yard proper just mow it.

  17. I grew up on a farm. Weed grows naturally in MN cow pastures. It literally is a weed.

This is outrageous! Give me the location and I’ll properly dispose of this and all of the other plants like it.

Time for a disc golf course instead of a regular golf course.

Your neighbors keep throwing their seeds and stems in your yard

Cannabis doesn’t work like that. It is an annual that grows from seed. It doesn’t spread and it doesnt regenerate after cutting as it’s an annual.

  22. That’s a little weird, you should be able to just pluck it as it grows from seeds. Someone must have dumped a fuck load of seeds there or something. As long as you pluck them before they grow up they shouldn’t come back.

As far as I understand they need to fully mature and there needs to be both a male and female for it to grow seeds and drop them.

Surprisingly happy looking plant though. Someone might also be nearby throwing seeds there all the time.
